Poetry Favorites

I’ve written a lot of poems.

Some of my favorites are:

On Heart’s Papers: On Heart’s Papers, a free verse poem speaks of a mind trapped without a voice to listen to, just left to express in words inked on paper.

Envy of mornings: This was my first attempt at the Shadorma form of poetry, and remains to date, the most read and commented poem of mine; and one of the most satisfactory poems I’ve written.

Born in me: The art of writing is what keeps me alive, and though I developed into a more better writer, I feel that art was in me when I was born.

Meaningless: This was a challenge given to me quite recently by my friend, The Fool. It brought out more of the philosopher in me, and I felt it was one of the best I’ve ever written!

In hopes..: I’m a big-time haiku addict. I like expressing a lot in little words. This is one of my better ones, expressing a patience when I wait.

No life: Without words, I’m lifeless.

Why should I not smile?: This poem means a lot to me. It was one of my first on the blog, but it helped one of my friends forget committing suicide.

Elemental life: The elements are very much part of any life, especially one of a writer’s.

Blinded emotions: My first ever challenge from a good friend, Lady Nimue.

Echoes: One of my better, more depth-filled Fibo poems!

Expressions of my soul: This is a poem dear to me, because it brought me back to life after a block phase.

The notebook: I didn’t realize how memorable this poem was till a friend asked me for this link, quoting from the poem, months after she initially read it!

Fallen yet fighting: What was inspired by few words, told more than what those words could in the end!

Can they see?: A set of senryu.

To falter: a poem in a form of my making, the Duoundectain!

Her letters: a Sijo form poem.

Two ways: a Triolet, and one of my best ever, both in satisfaction after writing, and with readers!

Insatiable: one of my first sensual poems! Free verse.

Mind’s Flight: One of my few attempts at shape poetry!

Confinement: The Acrostic form of poetry is not easy, and I’ve had a lot of attempts at it. This, to-date, has been the most satisfactory!
