fallen souls
they shine in night sky -
as equals

Author’s thoughts: A saying I know holds true – we’re born as equals, separated by life, and die as equals again.

Yes, we are equals in principle though society unfortunately doesn’t always treat us as such. Great message here. I would say this is a senryu since it speaks to emotions rathern than nature. Have a great day (or what time is it in India?) :)

I have not seen this idea delivered in such beautiful simplicity. The power lies in what remains unsaid, and you tackle prejudice with the common sense that seems to be missing in all our vital places. Bravo, Poet…this is brilliant!

That’s another truth perhaps, Clarice! The living and dying alone. But if we were all born alike, then it is how we traveled our life that separates us, is it not?

As always Leo, you hit a very universal thought in a particularly beautiful, unique and insightful way. We are indeed indissolubly linked.
PS. The trick to writing a pantoum, since you mentioned it at my place, for me is writing a bunch of rhyming couplets as foundation…because really that’s all they are–it’s the positioning where the form really makes you think. Anyway–it’s one of my favorites to play with–I think you’d do it well.

Thank you, Joy! Yes, it is universal I suppose. It’s one that has intrigued me at times. :)

Regards the pantoum, I am going to try it tonight ;) It’s not the foundation that worries me, but my own laziness perhaps :D
