lone candle -
its light conquers
the darkest night
Author’s thoughts: I chanced upon a haiku at Vaishali Jain’s Cosmuse blog, where she asks, does a heart which has longed for care for 9 years still keep hope. I think to have survived 9 years, that heart surely had at least one heart (candle) giving it the care (light) in those trying times. (darkness).

Beautiful !! But the light cd very well b her own!
Definitely could be her own, Aame
Then that light would not die. She just needs to take away the cloche from over it.

Yes in dark a flick of candle is all needed…You may not see far yet at least you can walk ahead…
Very true, Tweety

This made me think of the power each individual has in a dark world.
Thank you, Martin.
Yes, there is power in every individual to conquer darkness. Sometimes, the darkness seems to have swallowed our belief whole, so it seems lost, that’s all.

WOW, Leo! I’m left with no words but to say, “I’m in awe!” You’ve answered the question in so few words and so very beautifully. I’ve got no repartee for this and I’ll happily thank you. I might as well ask my friends what they think about this.
Thanks for all the the WP comments help, too. *smiles*
Yeah I saw your reply to my comment, Vaishali.
Feel free to redirect your friends here, ask them what they feel about it. Glad you liked my haiku. Cheers.

All we need is a source … in darkness ; a candle and in loneliness; a dear one. Lovely!
Yes indeed, Sims. Thank you
Glad you liked it.

So true. Camping tonight and lit a citronella candle on the picnic table in hopes of scaring off the unscarable mosquitoes. It seemed almost garish in the dark.
A perfect accompaniment for your campsite, DarkAngel?
Good mosquitoes there. Here, they hover more in that candle light

Question, name an object which will fill up an entire room but still leaves space for you? A lit-up candle
I like the strength sitting behind the light from a candle and how it symbolises hope.
I guess that’s the only answer, Clarice
Thank you for finding my haiku to reflect that hope.
