lose the skin
we have,
and step
into another;
live in it
like our own.
fool eyes,
which see it
as our own;
living a lie
in shadows;
with a hope,
none will see
the lights
of darkness.
but time -
wisest of all,
sheds light
even on
dark corners;
one fine day,
some eyes
will catch
our truths.
then…
only one
fate waits;
remember -
the boy
who cried wolf?

I get this completely. I know what inspired you to pen this down. Your words have that pain in them.

Thoroughly enjoyable – I loved the idea of waiting for the eventual truth. Thanks for sharing!
We don’t really wait for it, but it’s a way of life, I suppose. Thanks, Clarice for the praise.
