I like this. Each line I feel the depth of emotion behind, however, I am unable to associate it with wisdom? Would you share some thoughts? Thanks!
A river flows over thorns without stopping in its journey. In that journey, I feel the river passes on its wisdom of patience and bearing, and of focus too.

We can take that wisdom to our own life I feel. Thanks for liking it, Clarice

My friend, your emphasis is on the naked feet that keep walking on the thorns. If you want the emphasis on the river according to your interesting comment, your haiku has to be in a different version . May I suggest:
solid rocks-
the silent flowing
of the river
Enjoyed reading:))
Hmm
Taking in all the wisdom of your comments too, Rita. I will try and will do better as well. Yes, that haiku you suggest would express the wisdom better. Thank you for your valuable words!
- Leo.
Is it associated with life? wisdom indeed to patiently bear the pain and remain calm
It’s both with the journey of the river, and our journey in life
You got the essence of what I wanted to show anyways. Thanks, Maharukh.

Kya hi fundu connection kiya hai… Thank God you explained what it meant… Otherwise it had all sailed seamlessly over my head… But its beautiful, after reading your explanation, I really like it.
Thank you, DS
Glad you liked it.

we all have to keep going, regardless how rough the we’re on can be. Inspiring
Thanks, Leah!
Yes, it’s tough, but we need to move ahead!

Hi Leo.
The message (wisdom)of this poem is interesting.
The river stands for (life) which keeps flowing, no matter if roses or thorns come in its way.
I would revise it this way to make it clearer:
flowing river-
the naked feet keep
walking on thorns
Thanks!
~Rita
Thank you, Rita
I hope this haiku what I wrote is more showing than telling, as you had mentioned in my previous one for Ordinary. Glad you could understand what I meant to say by the haiku, and for revising it to a clearer one!
- Leo.
Or would the truly wise woman have chosen an alternate route?
Gathering Wisdom
No route is without thorns, MMT

first and last line, hats off, they carry in them a wonderful expression/image/thoughts, such an strong statement!
Thanks, Jaideep..
Glad you felt the statement to be strong!
- Leo.
great contrast between the soothing water and feet on the thorns…and that is the walk of life…smiles.
At least, that’s how it should be, Brian
Thank you.
- Leo.
I agree with Brian..great contrast and that is the walk of life.
Thanks, Ayala..

Leo, I love your idea of water moving smoothly over whatever it crosses, including thorns, among other obstacles. Simple, sweet, natural, and a real blessing, this one. Amy

Nature does hold a lot of wisdom for us
We just have to observe and understand it, I think. Even I’ve not done it completely as such, but I believe in it. Thanks Amy
- Leo.
Hi Leo, I see this as endurance or perhaps sacrifice? I’m not sure I get the reference to wisdom, but I understand what you mean. At first, I thought you were making a biblical reference of walking on water, but maybe that was unintentional? In any case, this is thought provoking and open to interpretation.
Life is about endurance, very much so, Loredana. My reference to wisdom is the one that I hear in the river’s voice. It shows me how to move over thorns. We shouldn’t stop living or moving forward when we face thorns.

sometimes it’s so hard to keep walking…you captured this sense of pain but also the comfort so well with these few words leo..
It’s hard, yes.. But it’s a part of the life cycle. We need to keep moving forward
Thank you, Claudia.
- Leo.
beautiful, Leo!
♥
Thanks, Dani..
- Leo.
Sweet.
Can you do without the (s) at the end of walks?
Enjoyed!
Oh.. yes of course, Kolembo
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed.
- Leo.
